After constant calling out by fans and various Bollywood celebrities, Mumbai police has finally summoned journalist and film critic Rajeev Masand in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Over 35 persons have been questioned in the case till now.

The development came after the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, during her interview with Arnab Goswami at his special program “Nation Wants to Know” called out for summoning Rajeev Masand in context to the death of Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

“I am not saying that anyone wanted Sushant to die, but definitely doomed. These people are emotional vultures. They want to see people lynch themselves. To date, Mahesh Bhatt is selling Parveen Babi’s illness in so many versions through his films. Why is Mumbai Police not summoning – Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Rajeev Masand? These 4 people. Why, because they are powerful? With this interview, I only have things to lose,” stated Kangana.

Film critic Rajeev Masand received a flood of criticism from netizens and some Bollywood celebrities and is accused of writing multiple blind items against the late talented actor including #metoo allegations, and calling him a “skirt chase”.

Padam Shri awardee Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee, and Apurva Asrani are some of the celebrities who came out in support of Sushant Singh and asked to include Rajeev Masand in the investigation too.

“Attacking soft targets like KRK, while keeping mum on the more powerful ‘blind item’ experts is sheer hypocrisy. KRK is vile, but at least has the guts to put his name to his opinions. Rajeev’s blind items against #SushantSinghRajput are vicious & cowardly. Don’t be selective,” tweeted filmmaker and editor Apurva Asrani.

Manoj Bajpayee has sought the inclusion of Rajeev Masand in the investigation and tweeted, “It is hypocrisy to selectively call out journalists who hurt innocent talents with slander. I am very upset to read the blind items by Rajeev Masand in your tweet & I support you in calling him out. But the effort to stop toxic people like KRK is genuine too. Let’s stand united.”

Kangana Ranaut claimed that Mumbai police had also summoned her but she was unavailable as she is in her hometown in Manali. After which Kangana stated in an interview that she will return her Padma Shri if she can’t prove her claims about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

Recently, Late actor Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty urged for a CBI investigation in the Sushant’s death through a tweet addressing Union Home Minister Amit Shah which has been denied.

Various celebrities including Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rhea Chakraborty, Sanjana Sanghi, casting director Shanoo Sharma, and many others have questioned so far in death of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14.
