With the second wave hitting the country hard, over 50% of the Supreme Court staff has tested positive. All the judges will now take the matters for hearing from their respective homes.

The court proceedings will be conducted through video conferencing only and the physical hearing will remain suspended.

On Saturday alone, 44 members of the Supreme court staff tested positive. The whole SC premise including courtrooms is being sanitized.

The benches will hear the matter with a delay of one hour. The benches that are scheduled to sit at 10.30 am will now hear the matters at 11 am and the matters scheduled for 11 am will be heard at 12 pm.

Facing a grim scenario, more than 10 lakh Covid cases have been reported in the past week. Today also, 1,68,912 cases have been reported which is the highest ever daily surge till now. Over 904 people have died in the last 24 hours.
