On 7 January, the Delhi’s Patiala House Court headed by Justice Satish Arora granted death warrant against the four convicts in the outrageous Nirbhaya gangrape case.

Following the allocation of the death sentence, two of the convicts, Vinay and Mukesh with the help of their counsels AP Singh and Vrinda Grover filed curative petitions in the Supreme Court to commute their death sentence to life imprisonment.

However, the other two convicts – Pawan and Akshay still have the chance to file their Curative Petitions. Besides, the convicts also have a chance to submit mercy pleas before the President.

All the four convicts – Vinay Sharma, Mukesh, Akshay, and Pawan will be hanged on 22 January at 7 AM.
