United Kingdom Home Secretary Priti Patel has approved the extradition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi in connection to the ₹11,356.84 crores Punjab National Bank loan scam. His extradition was ordered by a London court in February 2021.

Nirav Modi who is wanted in the massive loan fraud linked to PNB will face charges of fraud, money laundering, alleged intimidation of witnesses, and disappearance of evidence.

On February 25, The Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London ruled in the favour of the Indian government and issued Nirav Modi’s extradition orders.
